The A-level students were told that from September they would have to wear smart shoes, trousers, shirts and blazers - and the new clothes would only cost £30 from Tesco.

St Martin's School, in Moor Park Road, welcomed the Mayor of Hillingdon, Councillor Mary O'Connor MBE, for the official re-opening of the building, on Friday (1).

The building was named in honour of former school chairman of governors, John Stanley, who unveiled a special plaque at the event.
