NORTHWOOD Police Station will host an open day next month to mark its 100th anniversary.
A centenary celebration will be held at the station in Murray Road, on Saturday, June 18 from 11am - 2pm.
The event will feature vintage police vehicles and visits from the mounted branch and dog section. A police helicopter fly past is also hoped to take place.
Residents are most welcome to attend. Check the Gazette for pictures after the event.
A COMMUNITY play exploring 160 years of history in Rickmansworth and the surrounding areas will be take place next week.
Land of Liberty, which is being produced by arts company, Parabola, and Three Rivers District Council, will unveil the heroes, villains, lovers, betrayals, disasters and triumphs in the local area.
6pm THREE Rivers has voted a resounding 'no' in the Alternative Vote referendum.
Some 7985 residents voted for the campaign, while 20,779 declared their opposition.
There were 28,931 ballots cast in total and the turnout was 44.4 per cent.
Leader of TRDC, Councillor Ann Shaw, said: "It was obviously a disappointing result for those of use who support a change in the system. It was a very clear decision.
"It was sad that the no voters felt it acceptable to circulate such misleading propaganda."

5.50pm THE results for Croxley Green Parish Council's Croxley Green ward have finally been revealed after a recount.
Conservatives Kenneth Baldwin and Dudley Edmunds, together with Liberal Democrats Leighton Dann and Peter Getkhan, and independent candidates Wendy Jordan and Janet Martin have all won seats.
Roger Holmes (English Democrats - Putting England First!), independent candidate Christine Jefford and Tory Nigel Stewart failed to win enough votes, as did David Neighbour (Retired Building Inspector).

3.25pm THE result for the Croxley Green parish council Croxley Green ward has been delayed for a recount.
The results will hopefully be delivered before the AV count begins at 4pm, but potentially might not be announced until Monday.
2.30pm THE results are in for Croxley Green Parish Council North ward.
Liberal Democrat Julie Isard-Brown claimed victory with 674 votes, followed by independent candidate, Wendy Shafe, who received 510 votes.

PAVEMENT works are being carried out in Rickmansworth over the next two weeks.
The works, in Goral Mead, will involve removing existing pavement slabs and replacing them with a new asphalt surface.

RESIDENTS across Three Rivers can have their say on who represents them in the parish and district council elections.
The local polls will open next Thursday (5) for voters to make their preferences known.
Residents also have the chance to vote in the referendum on whether Britain uses the current 'first past the post' system to elect MPs to the House of Commons, or the 'alternative (AV) vote'.
Three Rivers is made up of 20 wards, with 16 up for election, some of which have more than one seat.
AS MOST of Britain basked in the sunshine, residents in and around Rickmansworth endured a soggier Easter bank holiday weekend after heavy rainfall caused flash flooding.
Firefighters and staff from Hertfordshire Highways were called between 6.45pm and 7.15pm on Saturday (23) to clear drains after reports of flooding in High Street, Church Street, Park Road, Highfield Way, Moor Lane and Scots Hill in Croxley Green.

THREE Rivers District Council (TRDC) is giving away free bags of compost to residents.
To mark Compost Awareness Week, from May 1 - 7, anyone who lives in the district is invited to come along to the Aquadrome on Wednesday, May 11 to pick up a big of high quality compost.
