PUPILS at Northwood School are celebrating exam success two months early.

Year 11 students at the school have already learned of their outstanding ICT results, with 99 per cent of pupils passing the subject at grade C or above.

A MAN has been cleared of holding his ex-girlfriend against her will and assaulting her in Northwood.

Paul David Heward, 46, denied falsely imprisoning and causing actual bodily harm to Kimberley Jayne Richardson at her home in Grangedale Road on January 10 this year.

A jury at Harrow Crown Court decided he was not guilty of the offences on Wednesday (29).

However Heward, of Lundin Walk, Watford, was jailed for 18 weeks after admitting to breaching a restraining order which prevented him from contacting Ms Richardson, 45, from October last year until October 2012.

Isobel 'Izzy' Chaplin, of High Elms Close, is among hundreds of keen cyclists who travelled from Marble Arch to the Arc de Triomphe in aid of the James Whale Fund for Kidney Cancer.

Motorists have been forced to back into angled parking bays near Argyle House in Joel Street since Hillingdon Council changed the parking arrangements last year.

Some 420 residents have signed a petition urging the council to allow people to drive forwards into a bay, amid fears that 'an accident is waiting to happen'.

A CHARITY plant sale will take place in Northwood next month.

PLANS to build a communications mast in Northwood have been rejected by councillors.

The 20-metre high monopole mast, topped by a one-metre lightning finale, was proposed for land behind a residential property in Hallowell Road, south of Northwood Station Underground car park.

The mast, to have been used exclusively by Network Rail operators, is part of ongoing work across the country to modernise the company's signalling system.
