The 70-year-old victim, who lives in Ducks Hill Road, answered the door to two men who forced their way in and assaulted him.

A silver and gold Rolex 'Oyster' men's watch and a distinctive gold men's ring, with a one carat diamond set into it and two half carat diamonds set either side, were stolen from the property.

RICKMANSWORTH police station is set to close next year, with all staff being relocated to a new central hub in the town centre.

A Hertfordshire police spokesperson this morning (28) confirmed to the Gazette that the station will be moved from Rectory Road to an empty office at Three Rivers House, in Northway.

A 21-YEAR-OLD from Northwood Hills has been jailed for going equipped for theft with a pair of bolt cutters.

Jason Lee Winskill, of Alandale Drive, was found with the bolt cutters in Mint Close, Uxbridge, on September 28 this year.

He was handed a six-week prison sentence, based on his criminal record, at Uxbridge Magistrates' Court on Thursday (October 21).

A NURSE who fraudulently claimed benefits from Three Rivers District Council (TRDC) has been handed a 12-month community order.

Tanya Nasir was also ordered to complete 120 hours unpaid work when she appeared at Hemel Hempstead Magistrates' Court on October 8.

CCTV pledge as yobs targeted

AN AREA plagued by rowdy yobs damaging property and causing trouble late at night is to have its security beefed up.

Long-suffering residents of Briarwood Drive, Ferndown and Oakdale Avenue in Northwood Hills have been working together to bring to light the problem with anti-social behaviour in the area.

Complaints include youths smoking cannabis, vandalism to cars and buildings, threatening behaviour, shouting, fighting and thefts.

A COUPLE were arrested in Moor Park yesterday morning (19) on suspicion of human trafficking offences.

The pair are believed to have forced a 37-year-old woman to live in inhumane conditions and work 'round the clock' completing domestic chores. They also been arrested on suspicion of assault.

The man and the woman, who both live in Hertfordshire, were detained as part of a joint operation between Hertfordshire Constabulary and the Metropolitan Police Services' (MPS) Trafficking and Prostitution Unit.

UP TO 20 cars in Northwood Hills were damaged by vandals last night (7).

Cars parked in and around Briarwood Drive, Sailsbury Road, Ferndown and Fore Street were targeted between 9.30pm and 11pm.

Police Sergeant Ian Stacey said: "The number of cars being damaged in a single evening is very rare for Northwood Hills and Hillingdon in general."

A THIEF who took £380 worth of goods from a man in Northwood Hills has been given a 12-month conditional discharge.

Christopher James Robert Bergin, 21, of Essex, stole a sat-nav, cup holder and £10 in coins from the victim in Joel Street, Northwood Hills, on April 9 this year.

He was also ordered to pay the victim £200 compensation when he was sentenced at Uxbridge Magistrates' Court on October 4.

A MAN has been spared jail after admitting to drink driving.

Domingos Ferrera, 44, of Reginald Road, Northwood, was given a six month prison sentence, suspended for two years, for driving over the prescribed alcohol limit in Emmanuel Road, Northwood, on July 16 this year.

He was also banned from the road for three years and ordered to complete 200 hours unpaid work, when he was sentenced at Uxbridge Magistrates' Court on Wednesday (October 6).

teahan.jpgPOLICE are making a fresh appeal for witnesses after a man was found unconscious in Northwood with severe head injuries.

Kevin Teahan, who is believed to live in Northwood, was found in Hallowell Road at about 11.45pm on September 6 - as reported in the Gazette.

Four weeks later, the 53-year-old has yet to regain consciousness.
