TWO men have been caged for an 'extremely violent' robbery and car-jacking in Rickmansworth last year.
Herbert Osuji, 35, of Primrose Road, South Woodford, and Diroy Hall, 29, of Westley Court in West Bromwich, were sentenced on Friday (12) after both admitted robbery at St Albans Crown Court.
Osuji, who also admitted grievous bodily harm, was jailed for five years while Diroy received a two-and-a-half year prison term.
The pair put their victim, a man from Rickmansworth, through what police described as a 'horrific attack', as he was loading thousands of pounds worth of jewellery into his BMW in Harefield Road, at about 10am on December 11.
A PENSIONER will face trial at crown court next year after being charged with possessing imitation guns in public.
Frank Richard Hawkins, of Wiltshire Lane, Northwood Hills, is said to have had a Japanese manufacture cap firing revolver in Murray Road, Northwood, on September 4 this year.
The 63-year-old is also accused of possessing an Umarex Derringerblank firing pistol, a prohibited weapon, with a barrel less than 12 inches in length, in the same road on the same day.
Hawkins has been remanded on bail and is due to appear at Harrow Crown Court on January 28. Check back for full details of the case as it progresses.
A MAN will face trial at crown court after being charged with committing a burglary in Northwood.
Idris Abdullahi is said to have trespassed on an address in Thirlmere Gardens on June 23 this year, and stolen X Box games and controllers, DVDs and cash to the value of ã580.
The 23-year-old, from Northwick Road, Watford, has yet to enter a plea and has been released on bail, due to appear at Isleworth Crown Court on November 30.
He has been ordered not to go within half a mile of Thirlmere Gardens while the case continues.
A 57-YEAR-OLD woman has been given a six-month conditional discharge for drunk and disorderly behaviour in Northwood Hills.
Saida Gregory, of Exchange Road, Watford, admitted to the offence at Northwood Hills Underground Station in Joel Street on October 29 this year.

A COUPLE have been charged with conspiracy to commit burglary following a catalogue of break-ins that took place last year, including addresses in Rickmansworth.
Kathleen Hawley, 23, of Kings Close, Hendon, and Mark Taylor, 20, of no fixed abode, were charged last week in connection with 26 incidents which occurred between August and November last year.
Of these, 12 took place in Rickmansworth and elsewhere in Hertfordshire.
The pair have been remanded and are due to appear at St Albans Magistrates Court on Monday (15).
A MAN who fraudulently claimed more than ã10,000 in benefits from Three Rivers District Council (TRDC) has been handed a 12-month community order.
Nigel Maine was also ordered to complete 90 hours unpaid work and pay ã400 in court costs after admitting to failing to notify TRDC of a change in his family circumstances.
An investigation into Maine's claim for housing and council tax benefits was launched after a government data match showed he failed to declare receiving working and child tax credits.
A TEENAGER from Northwood is due to face trial after being charged with two counts of robbery.
The 16-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is accused of robbing a man of a mobile telephone at Northwood Recreation Ground in Chestnut Avenue, on August 7 this year.
He is then said to have robbed another man of two lighters and a packet of cigarettes at the recreation ground on August 14 this year.
A TEENAGER has admitted to causing about ã50,000 worth of damage by setting fire to a Northwood Hills pub.
Daniel Card, 19, of Copthall Road East, Ickenham, admitted arson at The Woodman in Joel Street on February 24 this year, when he appeared for trial at Harrow Crown Court on Monday, October 25.
He previously denied the offence at an earlier plea hearing and is due to be sentenced at the court on Monday, November 22.
AN ARREST warrant has been issued for a woman who failed to attend a court hearing after being charged with shoplifting.
Carley-anne Bolton, 33, of Harrison Close, Northwood, was due to appear at Uxbridge Magistrates' Court on October 28 after being accused of stealing a Rock Band computer game, worth ã54.99, from Blockbuster in Coldharbour Lane, Hayes, on August 28.
The warrant is for arrest without bail.
