SCHOOLCHILDREN from across the borough and beyond paid their respects to Holocaust victims at an event hosted by Northwood's synagogues.

The Northwood and Pinner Liberal Synagogue (NPLS) Bereavement Group won the Queen's Award for Voluntary Service, the MBE for volunteer groups, for providing an outstanding service over the past 17 years, both within and beyond the Jewish community.

The award was presented to the group, based at the Synagogue in Oaklands Gate, Northwood, by the Queen's representative, Wing Commander Ed Partridge, Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London.
