school olympics.jpgYOUNGSTERS from four schools teamed up to hold their own mini Olympic Games.

Hillside Junior School, Northwood Way, Northwood, hosted the event on Wednesday and Thursday last week.

They were joined by pupils from Harlyn, Frithwood and Holy Trinity primary schools.

The pupils took part in seven events, including blind football and hurdles.

Pupils from different schools made up the teams, meaning there were lots of new friends to be made.

Year six pupil Joana said: "We were all extraordinarily excited about it.

"It was a good experience and pupils from all the schools mixed well and got to know each other."

The sun shone over events when they got under way for the years three and four games on Wednesday, with a colourful procession and stirring rendition of the national anthem kicking things off.

On Thursday, the weather was a little less settled, although the event for older children in years five and six was still a great success, the school said.

We'd like to hear from you.
