Shopkeeper dies in hospital after weekend crash
A NORTHWOOD shopkeeper has died after being knocked from his bike whilst delivering newspapers.
Zakiyuddin Mamujee, who owned Pat-A-Cake in High Street, Northwood, was involved in a collision with a car in Pinner Road at around 8.15am on Sunday.
Mr Mamujee, 58, was treated for chest injuries at the scene, and was taken by air ambulance to Royal London Hospital.
His family stayed by his bedside yesterday (Monday), but he died in the evening.
He leaves behind his wife, Farida, and two daughters. His funeral will be arranged this week.
The driver of the car, in his 60s, stopped at the scene and was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving. He has been bailed until September.

I was saddened to learn of this tragic accident and on behalf of Northwood Hills Residents' Association send our sincere condolences to Mr Mamajee's family.
We urge the Police to make available their report as the cause of the incident as soon as possible so that any safety issues can be fully understood and any recommendations in respect of alterations to the the highway and or signage can be quickly put in place by TFL/London Borough of Hillingdon.
