Roman Day at St Martin's School
BOYS at St Martin's School in Northwood were regaled with tales of life in Roman Britain when a re-enactment company stopped by.
The 10 and 11-year olds got the chance to dress up as soldiers and watched a weaponry display involving slingshot, arrows and javelin.

Pupil Daniel Maltz was dressed in slave chains and auctioned - an example of common practice in the Roman world. Luckily for Daniel, he was bought by his teachers.
The show was put on by re-enactment group Legion XIIII. An actor from the company told the children all about schools, weapons, food and Latin commands.
He showed artefacts such as an abacus, hair combs, mirrors and sandals.
