Northwood School success web.jpgNORTHWOOD School celebrated its top 100 placing in the Key Stage 4 performance tables this week.

To round-off their achievement, the Potter Street school received a letter from the minister of state for schools, Nick Gibb, to congratulate them on the "excellent achievement" of pupils.

Mr Gibb thanked the staff, governors and pupils at Northwood and also praised headteacher Graeme Atkins for his "leadership in continuing the drive towards the highest standards of educational achievement".

The performance tables rank schools based on sustained improvement in each year from 2008 to 2011.

Chair of governors Joan Greening said: "I am delighted that the hard work of the staff and students has been recognised in this way. "

Mr Atkins added: "The high standards of student achievement at Northwood is testament to the fact that we genuinely see each child as an individual, and can support and stretch according to individual needs."

We'd like to hear from you.
