Teen scoops prize after Northwood charity race
A TEENAGER scooped an early Christmas present after winning an iPad in a Northwood charity's prize draw.
Bethany Gray, 17, from Hillingdon, won the gadget after taking part in the Moor Park 10k run at Merchant Taylors's School, Sandy Lodge, in September.
The 17-year-old completed the run in 73 minutes and raised more than £260 for the event's charity, the Lynda Jackson Macmillan Centre, Rickmansworth Road, Northwood.
She was automatically entered into the draw after the race.
The youngster, a pupil at Bishopshalt School, Royal Lane, Hillingdon, said she was thrilled, as the high-tech tablet was already on her Christmas list.
The event marked its 10th anniversary this year and has broken records, with the total raised topping £50,000.
Plans are already underway for next year's race in September.
