CO-OPERATIVE Travel in Northwood is one of two branches in the borough which could close next year.

The travel agent, in Clive Parade, and another branch in Swakeley's Road, Ickenham, are among 200 stores earmarked for closure by parent company Thomas Cook.

The holiday firm merged with the Co-operative's travel arm earlier this year.

Four staff work at the Northwood branch and three at Ickenham.

Bethany Gray, 17, from Hillingdon, won the gadget after taking part in the Moor Park 10k run at Merchant Taylors's School, Sandy Lodge, in September.

The 17-year-old completed the run in 73 minutes and raised more than £260 for the event's charity, the Lynda Jackson Macmillan Centre, Rickmansworth Road, Northwood.

A NIGHT bus service to Ruislip, Eastcote or Northwood 'would not be justified', according to Transport for London (TfL).

POLICE swooped on unsafe motorcyclists and drivers during a day of action in Northwood Hills.

The crackdown, in Joel Street, followed numerous complaints from residents about groups of motorcycle and scooter riders riding dangerously.

Northwood Hills Safer Neighbourhood Team was joined by officers from Harefield to carry out the operation, to check both cars and motorcycles. Two specialist motorcycle officers from the Metropolitan Police traffic unit joined them.
