Inquest into Shannon Powell's death delayed for expert medical reports

EA120111shannon01C.jpgAN INQUEST into the sudden death of a Northwood school pupil has been delayed for expert medical reports.

The Gazette told how 14-year-old Shannon Powell, a popular student at Northwood College, in Maxwell Road, died while taking part in a running competition on January 8 this year.

The teenager, of Northolt, described as 'an outstanding all-round athlete', is believed to have collapsed at the Middlesex Cross Country Championships in Trent Park, Barnet, north London.

She was representing the Ealing, Southall and Middlesex Athletics Club.

North London Coroner's Court told the Gazette that Ms Powell's inquest probably wouldn't be heard until September.
