Family tragedy for Ruislip, Northwood and Pinner MP, Nick Hurd

TRAGEDY has struck the family of Nick Hurd after the Ruislip, Northwood and Pinner MP's sister-in-law was found dead in New York.

Catherine Hurd, 46, was married to Nick's brother Thomas Hurd, a United Nations diplomat and Middle East expert.

The mother-of-five was found in the early hours of Saturday (21) lying unconscious in the street beneath her apartment, close to the UN headquarters.

She was taken to hospital and pronounced dead. Although no note has been found, New York police are treating the death as suicide.
