UX211210amalad02.jpgCHILDREN escaped the snow and sub-zero temperatures to embark on an exotic Arabian adventure, as part of an Aladdin-inspired drama workshop.

Four to eight-year-olds jumped on a magic carpet to travel over wind-swept deserts and help Aladdin and Princess Jasmine rescue the magic lamp from the clutches of evil villain, Jafar.

After donning glittering cloaks and jewel-encrusted hats, the youngsters, working with a team of experienced theatre professionals, combined live music, dance and quick-witted improvisation, to produce a colourful performance for parents.

The winter holiday workshop, held at Northwood Methodist Church in Oaklands Gate on December 21, was organised by drama group, Perform.

It was designed to stimulate the creativity, confidence and communication skills of the children, encouraging them to stretch their imaginations, make friends and have fun.
