Live music, canal boat tours and spitfire flypast at Rickmansworth Festival
LIVE music, a tug of war and canal boat tours will all be on the agenda at the Rickmansworth festival next weekend.
The popular annual event is billed as bigger and better than ever before, with more than 20 bands on four stages, including Rock Choir, the largest contemporary choir in the country with almost 200 members.
Saturday afternoon will see a flypast by a spitfire and a hurricane, to mark the 70th anniversary of the Battle of Britain, while a 1930s German Bucker Jungmann bi-plane will close the festival on Sunday with an awesome air display.
There will also be stalls, a children's farm area including a Clydesdale horse, plus an environmental fair marquee, and upwards of 150 boats moored on the tow-path.
The festival is organised by Rickmansworth Waterways Trust, which relies on donations. Please note visitors are advised to park in the town centre and walk to the festival site.
The event takes place on Saturday from 10.30am - 10.30am and on Sunday from 10.30am - 5pm (music begins at 11am), at Rickmansworth Aquadrome and Batchworth Lock.
