Baby yoga among activities at new children's centre in Northwood
A CHILDREN'S centre in Northwood which offers yoga classes for babies was officially opened last Friday (15).
Hillside Children's Centre, in Northwood Way, has been created specifically for families with tots from birth up to age five.
The centre, which is one of 12 to open in Hillingdon within the last two years, is based in a purpose-built bungalow next to the Hillside Infant School site.
Services available include daily stay and play classes, support for stressed parents and a Jobcentre Plus advice centre for people returning to work.
Plans are in the pipeline for adult learning, drop-in sessions for breast-feeding mums, midwifery, and groups for dads.
Headmaster Chris Drake said of the opening: "It was a lovely day and we were delighted to welcome the Mayor of Hillingdon, Councillor Shirley Harper O'Neill, who officially 'cut the ribbon', as well as many other local councillors.
"We are also hoping to introduce cooking classes for dads and football sessions for babies.
"I would like to thank everyone who contributed towards setting up the centre - it is crucial to provide these services to families with young children with our community. We are very proud to have it here."
