YOUNG people in Northwood and Rickmansworth will have the chance to learn, perform and run their own talent showcases with leading hip hop experts.

A series of workshops will begin across Hertfordshire in January, thanks to a £30,000 grant to the county council from Arts Council England.

They will be hosted by some of the UK's top professional hip hop artists and will offer budding Eminems aged 13-19 the chance to learn skills including dance, beat boxing, song writing and MC-ing.

The county council's music service has joined forces THEATRE IS... a Hertfordshire based theatre company to run programmes of training to encourage young people to be creative entrepreneurs.

Richard Thake, executive member for education and skills at Hertfordshire County Council, said: "This is a wonderful opportunity to develop young people's performance skills and is also designed to empower young performers, technicians and event organisers to go on to create and run their own events in the future."

We'd like to hear from you.
