Petition to cut traffic congestion around Northwood schools
TRAFFIC congestion problems caused by the parents of students at two Northwood schools could soon be resolved after fed up residents started a petition.
Hillingdon Council received a 27-signature petition in June last year from residents of Sentis Court, Carew Road and Maycock Grove requesting measures to reduce traffic congestion during school peak times.
The petition states the parents of students at Frithwood Primary School, in Carew Road, and St Helen's School, in Eastbury Road, cause the problems during picking up and dropping off times at the schools.
A petition hearing was held with the cabinet member for planning and transport, Councillor Keith Burrows, on Thursday (29) to try and resolve the situation.
Councillor Burrows has asked officers to conduct a feasibility study into suitable measures in Carew Road following the completion of both the schools' School Travel Plan.
